On LOTRO PvP

Way baaack in September 2006, we featured an article regarding PvP in LOTRO. The post elicited two comments worth gold from this blog’s readers, namely Paul and Steven. They present good points and we thought it’d be best to feature them in a new post.
From Paul:
They NEED to include PvP (and not just between opposing races). They either need to enable a system for players to “accept” a duel challenge, allowing them to engage in combat anywhere in the game, or they need to dedicate a land to PvP, or allow PvP anywhere outside of town (without consent), OR simply allow players to attack other players anytime, anywhere. This is a *MUST*. If LOTRO does not make PvP a large part of game play, they are going to lose a lot of potential customers! I guarantee it!
I also think PvP should be enabled across ALL servers.
From Steven:
As Paul Said pvp is a MUST and this game wont last for long without. The best pvp method would be something like Guild Wars. 8vs8 at special stages with purposes to win with rank system. Also GvG battles are needed cause atm its kinda pointless to be in a Kinship (in my opinion), it doesnt challenge u to become a better player and work as a team…If they add pvp and gvg and fix that skillbar this game will become even better than it is.
